First Ride after 4 Years

Today was my first ride on my own Harley since 4 years...
We rode to a meeting called PES, which means PRE-EVO-SUNDAY :-)
More than 40 guys and girls with their old Harley Davidson motorcycles showed up
and met at the Oldtimer Cafe in Bird Hill.

I met people which I only knowed over the web, it was really cool.
Take a look at those bikes, the famous dirty old man was also there, he rode his cool Knucklehead.

Friday at the dirty old mans garage...

We repaired the thread to mount the air cleaner, changed a few o-ring seals, took a ook at the damn battery
and setts up the carburator.
Mr. Bendix, you rule!

Monday night

There are a few more problems, we'll fix them on friday.

Monday evening

A repop pushrod, build of crappy aluminum, and a fucked up nosecone...
Great!

Ok, ok,...

Maybe the famous nasty old man from H-town has tomorrow time for the FLH.
He'll look at the engine and check all the important stuff.

The Gayster

Primary cover mounted, electric done, windshield model "gayster" mounted, tomorrow I will mount all the other shitty parts.
Stay tuned, or how we say in Hessen: "Hau rein".

Clean and smooth...

Primary cover is now clean, the needle bearing is greased and ready to mount.

Primary cover

I will grind it a litte bit, there is a little "hill" from a weld.

The other welds are well done.
I'll clean this part, and mount it back on the case.

The Neutral switch is ready!

The old one right, the new one left.

Bendix with Air Cleaner mounted (only a test)

The style of the OEM parts are really better.
God, I hate these S&S Teardrop Aircleaner Cover.

S&S??? No way!

The Bendix will do the job ;-)

Oil? WTF is in there?

Damn shit, same problems like with the old horseshoe oiltanks,
nobody cleaned them the last 40 years.
A lot of crap inside.
